Review Summary
A Little Princess was the English directorial debut of Alfonso Cuarón and while it didn't quite garner the attention a bigger movie would have received, it still showcased what was a clearly talented director. Liesel Matthews was the star of the film, giving a great performance as Sara Crewe. While the special effects were not great even in 1995, they don't take up much of the movie. The cinematography by Emmanuel Lubezski is superb and the set design sumptuous. One of the best children's movie of the last 25 years.
